Description
In 1917, two young cousins, Elsie Wright and Frances Griffiths, while playing with a camera in Cottingley, near Bradford, made a series of photographs of a garden with fairies. Elsie’s mother was the first to believe Snapes’ authenticity – but she wasn’t the last. The images were recognized by experts as genuine and the ‘Cottingley Fairs quickly became known around the world.
